I certainly hope  that you will be reinstated as head basketball coach asap., and more importantly that your image in our community and nationally  is recognized as it should be.  Your accomplishments are understated and the  leadership and role model that you play in our young students lives is imperative.

BRAVO…………MR BROADUS….. YOU ARE A VERY GOOD MAN ….AND SECONDARILY, A DAMN GOOD BASKETBALL COACH… YOU HAVE CLASS…..
I was the  MVP trophy of my D-3 college basketball team of yesteryear.   I have a passion for good college basketball and that is exactly what you and your program have provided the Binghamton area.

Relative of student athlete who played for Coach

My cousin played under Coach Broadus for four years at Binghamton.. Although we were cousins we grew up like siblings and  I was very worried about him leaving home. I was in my third year of college at the University of Florida and feared the type of influence he would face away from home and among young college students. Growing up he had never so much as washed a dish in the house and I couldn’t help but wonder if the pressure of academics, athletics and the independence college brings would break him. Every time I spoke with him he reassured me that I had nothing to worry about, he said Coach Broadus was there to help guide him not only on the court but in life. He would help him grow from a inner city kid trying to make it in the world into a young man who excelled both on and off the court and would make his family proud. I never had the pleasure of meeting Coach Broadus but my cousin as since graduated and moved back home. I have definitely seen a change in him. He is more responsible, respectful, and poised and for this I thank Coach Broadus for keeping him under his wings. I know that it must be difficult guiding young men most of whom are used to having their own way without consequence but I have seen living proof of Coach Broadus’ impact on my family and for this I thank him.

I am writing to you with regard to Mr. Coach Kevin Broadus, I have met with Coach Broadus for the first time in 2007 December. The thing that impresses me the most about him is he has the desire and the experience to assist you. He is also constantly looking for new challenges, skill building and developing a resourceful network of colleagues that respect and admire him. Moreover, he always looks and acts in a professional manner — during practice helps enforce discipline.

It is my belief that his experience will help kids to truly succeed in the Basketball industry by diminishing their shortcomings and improving their talents. I am confident that Kevin will both grow from and give back to your program.

Hey coach, wanted to let you in on some stuff. Wrapping up the season here in Denmark, averaging a double double and 3 blocks a game right now. Got invited to workout and tryout for a spot on the Estonian National team over the summer as well. I hope all these things in Binghamton get settled soon, and want you to know that I support you 100% and will always cherish the times that I have had at Binghamton, good and bad. I appreciate the lessons and things that you and the other coaches have taught and done for me in the past, and still have love for all my old teammates, who I went to battle with everyday. What they’re trying to do to our program, makes me sick every time I read something about this. I’ve seen a fair share of adversity, but nothing to this degree, those guys this year made me so proud with how they played and conducted themselves. I am on board with you coach, you know I always have been, wish you all the best.

I am a graduate of Binghamton University, listed as one of the 40 or so “notable alumni” on the Wikipedia article about the school because of my accomplishments in the field of literature. I find it outrageous what political forces in the Chancellor’s Office at SUNY are currently doing to Coach Kevin Broadus. As far as I am concerned, he is one of the most valuable public figures ever associated with Binghamton University. Not only has he brought national attention to the school for achievement in sports and given young people who might never have had a chance an opportunity to develop their talents, to learn and to contribute to their society, but he has also offered the other students of Binghamton University exposure to a greater variety of backgrounds and ethnicities. I myself did not have such opportunities when I attended Binghamton University (then known as Harpur College), because it was overwhelmingly white. I fully support Kevin Broadus and protest the treatment to which he has been subjected.
